Sprints/Jumps Coach

Clifford Linton has been with the Etobicoke Group Of Clubs since 1974 as an athlete and from 1980 as a coach. Clifford is a fully Certified Level 3 Coach in the Sprints, Hurdles, Relays. Clifford brings to the club 32+ years of experience and much success in coaching at the national and international levels Many athletes Clifford coached have represented Canada at international competitions including the World Championships and Olympic Games. Notable National Champions and International medallists are Everton Anderson, Karen Layne, Jonathan Howells, Eric Frempong, Marlon Dechausay, Nicole Devonish, Colleen Prendergast, Foy Williams and Carline Muir.

Distance - Head Coach

Julius has been coaching with Etobicoke for over 40 years; starting with distance coaching for everything from 5k to marathons, hooking up with Trevor 20 years ago to move gradually to taking younger and younger athletics to various outstanding performances and titles. His tireless efforts in Athletics and in managing Etobicoke Track also currently have him serving at President of the Minor Track Association of Ontario.

Sprints – Head Coach

Trevor is the former 400m National level sprinter, who has been coaching with Etobicoke Track for over 20 years. He has had countless High school, Provincial and National medalists. His background in Kinesiology, work experience correcting motion mechanics, and years of observing and stressing form and efficiency have helped countless athletes to be their absolute best.

Erwin Turney

Erwin Turney

Long / Triple Jumps and Sprints

Erwin joined the Huskies-Striders in 1986 as jumps – sprints coach, A former Canadian National Team coach, he continues to coach numerous high school, Provincial and National Champions and has helped produce many Canadian Team members for the Commonwealth, Pan-Am Francophone, The World, and Olympic Games.

Peter Azenhas (Serrado)

Middle Distance

Peter is another Etrack alumni, with success in the 400/800m. He has been giving back to the community through several coaching/training initiatives. When not coaching Peter is pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter (peterserrado.com) @peterserrado

John Powell

Masters Distance

John has been coaching for forty years, mainly for Master athletes i.e. athletes over 30 years old, and also assisting with various junior movements in Athletics. He has also contributed countless volunteer hours (months/years?) as a senior member of the Master’s group and as vice /president of Etobicoke Track. John is also trained as Sports Coach, certified as a Run/Jump/Throw/Wheel (R/J/T/W) Coach and trained as an R/J/T/W Instructor and Coach Evaluator.
